Simon Golob (SLG) is a retired law enforcement officer, having started with the NYPD in 1998. After September 11th, he was offered a position in federal law enforcement, where he was fortunate enough to support the GWOT. Throughout his career, SLG has served as a patrol cop, investigator, firearms instructor, assaulter, and sniper. Deploying numerous times to Africa and the Middle East as well as 4 tours between Afghanistan and Iraq, his experience includes tactical operations, protection, and instruction.
 
Responsible for the development of a detachment-wide firearm and CQB program while serving as a member of a full-time federal tactical team, he has taught and trained with numerous law enforcement and military special operations groups, as well as a “who’s who” of top private schools. SLG’s original and continuing interest in the firearms field is effective, performance-oriented concealed carry. To that end, he was heavily involved in the development of the original modern AIWB holster, as well as many of the current derivatives. An occasional competition shooter, SLG has managed to consistently place highly in regional and national shoots in a variety of shooting sports, including a 1st place finish at Steel Nationals and 3rd place at the Bianchi Cup two years in a row.
