On today's Coffee with Rich, we will be joined by Zee Durham.
Master Sergeant (Retired) Zevon Lee Durham aka “Zee” served as an Infantryman for his first 6 years in the US Army with the 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Rakkasans out of Ft. Campbell, KY. While there, he held the position of machine gunner, fire team leader, squad leader, and recon team leader. During this time frame, Zee deployed to Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Iraq. After being selected and attending the Special Forces Qualification Course at Ft. Bragg, NC., Zee was assigned to 5th Special Forces Group Airborne as an 18C (Engineer Sergeant), again at Ft. Campbell where he finished his career. Within 5th SFG(A), Zee was assigned to the Group's lone Direct Action and Hostage Rescue specialty company with the designation of A/1/5 that is reserved for Green Beret elite. There, Zee held the position of SF Engineer Sgt, Senior Engineer Sgt, Cell Leader, Team Sgt, and Battalion S-3 Operations Sgt. While in Special Forces, Zee deployed 6 times to various locations in the Middle East with all of them being combat deployments except 2. During these deployments, Zee worked with hundreds of soldiers in the elite forces of these various countries. Zee taught them, trained them, and fought beside them in order to accomplish the mission successfully. The majority of his military career has been serving as a reconnaissance team leader. Cliff has done several deployments as a Marine, to include Desert Shield and Desert Storm in 1990 & 1991. In 1992, Cliff again deployed, this time to Somalia. Cliff finished his active duty in San Diego as a drill instructor. In 1996, Cliff left active duty to spend more time with his family and joined the LAPD. During his time as a police officer, Cliff has worked patrol, gangs and narcotics. In 2003, Cliff took a break from police work to deploy to Iraq for OIF 1. In Iraq, Cliff was a team leader with 4th Force Reconnaissance. As a Marine and police officer, Cliff has trained hundreds of Marines and fellow officers in firearms and tactics. Besides being knowledgeable in firearms and tactics, Cliff also has a martial arts background in Tang Soo Do, Kung Fu San Soo, wrestling and BJJ. Brief Bio: Ruedi Kaspar is a retired Air Force Colonel who spent 28 years on active duty, primarily as a special operations C-130 pilot. His assignments include serving as squadron commander, vice wing commander, Air Operations Center commander, Chief of the Air Corps Advisory Group in Kabul, Afghanistan, and Commander of USCENTCOM’s Combined Joint Special Operations Air Component in Balad, Iraq. His final assignment was as the Deputy Director of Operations for Air Force Special Operations Command. He has logged over 5200 flight hours including combat time in both Iraq & Afghanistan, and his awards include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star and Air Medal. He is a lifelong martial arts enthusiast now training in Krav Maga, the owner and operator of Talon Firearms Training in northwest Florida, and a proud American Warrior Society member.
