Steve Washington is the owner of Protection Tactics firearms training in Cedar Springs Michigan. Steve served 10 years in the US Army in Michigan National Guard as a communication specialist in armor and military police units. After getting out of the army he became a financial advisor with a major Bank working his way up to being a vice president of Investments. While running his training company he also taught High School social studies, health, and business classes. As a dad to four daughters, he was introduced to the challenges of raising teenage girls and coached girls high school basketball for the last 11 years. Additionally, coaching boys and girls track for the last five. Steve is USCCA Certified Firearms Instructor and Senior Training Counselor. He has trained over 10,000 students to get their concealed carry license, developed over 100 certified instructors and nearly 50 training counselors.

Dustin is a former naval officer who specializes in security, protection, and training development. Between the military and the private sector, he has conducted 20 overseas deployments, was a founding member and the Director of Training for Sealed Mindset (now Defensive Mindset Training), and is a member of the SMEAC Consulting Group. Dustin is a certified law enforcement firearms instructor in multiple disciplines and designed the weapons training programs at multiple military commands. He has a Bachelor’s of Science from the U.S. Naval Academy, a Master’s Degree in Security Management, and is an ASIS Certified Protection Professional. He is the author of Building Shooters, Mentoring Shooters, On Training, Volume 1, On Training, Volume 2, Becoming Shooters, NURO, and Hitting in Combat, and is the inventor of the NURO(TM) Shooting System (Patent Pending).

David Yamane is Professor of Sociology at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. For the past 10 years, he has been studying the new self-defense-oriented core of American gun culture that Michael Bane calls “Gun Culture 2.0.” He recently published a short book on this history of concealed carry in the U.S., Concealed Carry Revolution: Expanding the Right to Bear Arms in America, and his review essay on “The Sociology of US Gun Culture” is available as a free download. “After 21 years of using the term ‘common sense’ to describe the way I lived and led in the military, this was the first time I actually paused to ponder what ‘common sense’ actually is and why people seem to recognize, respond to, and appreciate ‘common sense leadership’ whenever they experience it. I didn’t have to look far to find the answer. The answer is both all around and inside us. It’s not political, or religious, or philosophic. It’s biologic. Biology reveals that life always finds a way. It’s the "Common Sense Way.” In 2015 I left my job as a Biotechnology executive to write this book.
“In 2018, while still working on this book, I decided it was time to pressure test the “Common Sense Way” in the living laboratory of real-world experience, so I started an international company that adds armor protection to any type of vehicle (e.g. cars, trucks, vans, buses, etc.). Pete was born and raised in Oak Park, Illinois. He has an MBA and an MS in National Security and Strategic Affairs.
